Bengaluru: Krishna Byregowda grabbed govt land, says BJP spokesperson NR Ramesh
Bengaluru: Former corporator and BJP city spokesperson N.R. Ramesh on Saturday alleged that Agriculture Minister Krishna Byregowda and 15 of his followers have grabbed 117 acres of government land worth over Rs 1,800 crore on the city outskirts.
Releasing documents on the alleged land grabbing, Mr Ramesh said that it is next only to the Rs 5,000 crore HMT factory scam of yesteryear. He said, “At at survey number 109 at Singapura village, falling under Yelahanka hobli under the Byatarayanapura Assembly constituency, Minister Krishna Byregowda, with the help of his followers, has grabbed 117 acres of government property."
Of the 226.15 acre of government land under survey number 109, the minister and his henchmen have grabbed 117 acres by forging documents, he alleged. Singapura Lake has been encroached and Vinayaka Layout has been built in the lakebed illegally, he said. “The Byatarayanapura constituency has government properties worth over Rs 5,000 crore. Byregowda, who has been elected from the constituency, has done nothing to prevent land grabbing,” he said.
