Rajahmundry: Elect all 25 MPs from YSRC for SCS, says Jagan Mohan Reddy
Rajahmundry: YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon the people to support his party by electing all 25 candidates for the Lok Sabha in the ensuing polls in order to get special category status for AP.
Addressing an election rally at Bhimavaram in West Godavari on Monday, Mr Reddy said that they were not expecting any political party to get a majority to form the government on its own at the Centre.
He asked the people to support his party so that he could mobilise the support of 17 MPs from Telangana to ask whichever party formed government to accord special status to AP if it wanted the support of 42 MPs from both AP and TS.
He said that all 42 MPs could extend support to the government provided it could append its first signature according special tag to AP.
On state issues, Mr Reddy promised to develop all 13 districts in the state along the lines of Hyderabad.
Expressing concern over high level of unemployment in the state, he vowed to address the issue and said that they were going to bring in industrial revolution once their government assumed power after elections and provide 75 per cent reservation in employment to local youth. With regard to the lack of development works in the town, he flayed the TD regime for failing to take up construction of houses for the poor even as the requisite land was acquired during the previous Congress regime.
