CM KCR forms 10-member squad to assess BRS meetings
Hyderabad: Ahead of the Assembly elections, BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao formed a 10-member committee, led by former Speaker and MLC S. Madhusudhana Chary, to oversee the execution of the party's programmes and assess how the ‘Atmeeya Sammelanams’ were being conducted in each Assembly constituency.
The formation of the committee follows reports of infighting between leaders and party workers in several constituencies during the 'Atmeeya Sammelanams'. According to party insiders, the CM formed the committee with the intention of resolving issues and fostering better relations between party leaders and grassroots workers.
During a teleconference on Sunday, BRS working president and minister K.T.Rama Rao informed the party leaders of the CM's decision to establish the committee.
Rama Rao asked the party's district presidents, general secretaries, and MLAs to cooperate with the committee when it visits their constituencies. He stated that the committee will collect feedback on the Atmeeya Sammelanams from the leaders concerned and send a report to the CM.
The committee will study whether these meetings were carried out in
accordance with the CM's instructions, and submit a report to Chandrashekar Rao. Further, the CM directed that each party MLA form a team with the most active workers to take information of the BRS government's welfare schemes and development projects to the people and solicit votes in order to achieve a hat-trick win for the BRS in the Assembly elections.
The CM directed all BRS elected representatives, from village sarpanches to MLAs to district party presidents, to interact with local leaders and party workers and resolve differences among themselves.
Since the third week of March, MLAs and party leaders in each constituency have been holding ‘Atmeeya Sammelanams’ in accordance with the CM's directives. Initially, the CM directed that the events be completed by April 25, two days before the party's plenary on April 27, but he extended the deadline until May 27 after realising that it would be impossible to cover every mandal and village by April 25.
