2+1 & 1+1 formula of family politics is Siddu's innovation: Modi
Mysuru, ( Santhemaralli): In a clear attempt to strike a rapport with the people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in Kannada on Tuesday, while addressing a rally in Mysuru, saying "Sarkaara badalisi, BJP gellisi" and "Banni ellaru swachcha, sundara, suraksha raajya katoona" (Come lets build a clean, beautiful, safe state).
Hitting out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for contesting from two constituencies and getting a ticket for his son too to ensure that his political legacy continued even if he lost, and giving tickets to the children of each minister contesting the polls, he said," this 2+1 and 1+1 formula of family politics" was his political innovation. "It is detrimental not just to democracy, but also to the interests of sincere party workers who are deprived of opportunities," he added.
Mr Modi, who was addressing a mega convention of over 50,000 people in Santhemaralli village in Chamarajnagar district, hit back at Congress president, Rahul Gandhi for claiming he had failed to walk his talk, saying, "We are kaamdaar and the Congress men are naamdaar. We work and they only talk. You can never expect anything from them. You ruled for 70 years, and said that by 2009 all villages would have electricity. But even in 2014, four crore households in India did not have electricity. We have provided electricity to 18,000 villages , including 39 in Karnataka, in the past four years. We will not stop there, but will ensure every household in India has electricity."
Telling the people they had an opportunity to change the politics of Karnataka, he deplored that although a railway line had been sanctioned for Chamarajnagar , the state government had made no effort to implement it. "Though Chamarajnagar is a source for black granite, they have failed to create employment for youth in the region, " he added.
BJP state chief, B S Yeddyurappa offered to write in blood that the BJP would not deceive the people and make an honest efforts to provide a clean and efficient government ." We plan to come up with separate banks for Stree Shakthi self- help groups, and we will gift mangalyas weighing four to five grams and some money to the poor for their marriages," he added.
