Pawan Kalyan to start AP tour from June 14
Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan would launch his tour of Andhra Pradesh on his poll campaign vehicle, Varahi, from June 14.
His stated aim is to reach out to the people, learn their problems and strengthen the party with the wider goal of freeing the state free from the rule of the YSR Congress and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Pawan Kalyan would start his tour by offering prayers to the Lord Satyanarayana at the Annavaram temple and then visit Assembly segments like Prathipadu, Pithapuram, Kakinada Rural and Urban, Mummidivaram, Amalapuram, P Gannavaram and Razole in the erstwhile East Godavari district.
He would also will cover Palacole, Narasapuram and Bhimavaram Assembly segments in the erstwhile West Godavari district.
The actor-turned-politician would start his activities at 9 am and interact with local leaders, doctors, lawyers, intellectuals and others to learn the local problems at micro level. He also aims to make field visits to ascertain first-hand the gravity of the problems and make “efforts to resolve those.”
Pawan Kalyan would also interact with farmers, women, unemployed youths, artists, toddy tappers, construction workers, fisherfolk, weavers and all other significant sections of the society. He would spend at least two days in each Assembly segment during his tour to understand the local problems by meeting the stakeholders and visiting the affected areas in person.
Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar announced Pawan Kalyan’s tour programme at the party office in Mangalagiri on Friday.
Though he made it clear that Pawan Kalyan’s tour would not transform itself into election rallies or public meetings, he aimed to create awareness among the people on the need for a change in the government for “good governance” of the state.
As there are speculations that Jagan Mohan Reddy would call early polls, as Telangana did last time, Jana Sena chief appears to be aiming to strengthen the party base to ensure a better performance for the party in the next polls. Last time, it had a disastrous performance.
