Puducherry: AIADMK legislator Thanga Tamilselvan, who is leading the faction of MLAs owing alliance to TTV Dhinakaran, said that it is better to order a fresh floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly as demanded by the principal opposition party DMK.
“Our intention is that there should be a trust vote. So after that, a new Chief Minister will be in place. We did not want Eddapadi K. Palaniswami to be continued in the post of Chief Minister”, said the Andipatti MLA who is staying in a resort here for the past 11 days along with other legislators supporting Dhinakaran.
He claimed that the number of MLAs supporting Dhinakaran has gone up to 40 as stated by the DMK leaders.
Mr Tamilselvan said that though Deputy Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam and Chief Minister Eddapadi K. Palaniswami expected MLAs from the rebel group of the party to cross over, nothing had happened so far even after 11 days of stay.
“The strength of the Dhinakaran faction legislators is increasing, a happy announcement will be there tomorrow “, he added.
