Rythu Bharosa Kendras to purchase paddy from farmers
KAKINADA: State Civil Supplies Corporation vice chairman and managing director Veera Pandyan said on Friday that the paddy for Khariff crop would be purchased from all Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBK) in the state, He asked officials to make arrangements for purchase of paddy from farmers from now on without causing any inconvenience to producers.
He convened a meeting with officials of the district rural development, civil supplies, Markfed, marketing, transport and other departments at Godavari Meeting Hall in Eluru of West Godavari on Friday and said officials should make e-crop booking in a perfect manner by feeding all details including E-KYC, Registration, Data Verification etc of farmers; and the crops and the data would be linked to all the servers. Then there will be no hurdles to purchase of paddy from the farmers, he said.
He said all the data compiling should be completed by October 15. Paddy Purchase Centres would be set up based on the extent of cultivated paddy and expected yield. Paddy should be purchased with Minimum Support Price and if any mediator or rice miller or anybody else purchased paddy below MSP, they will face criminal cases.
Veera Pandyan said West Godavari district stood first in the state in re-taking of the gunny bags from rice millers. Joint collector BR Ambedkar said paddy crop is being raised on 5,64,925 acres in West Godavari and it is expected that 15 lakh metric tonnes of paddy would be produced. There are 335 paddy purchasing centres under 929 RBK limits, he said.
West Godavari district civil supplies corporation manager D Raju, agricultural joint director Jagga Rao, district civil supplies officer Subba Raju, deputy transport commissioner Siri Anand were also present.
