No Congress Candidate Will Fall For BRS, BJP Baits: Siddaramaiah
Bidar: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday asserted that no Congress candidate will succumb to any potential political maneuvers by either the BRS or the BJP in Telangana.
Siddaramaiah was here to inaugurate Dr Bheemanna Khandre centenary celebration.
"None of our candidates can be swayed by BRS or BJP. BJP has no foothold in Telangana. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's extensive campaigning and roadshows, they might secure only 4-5 seats," he said.
Expressing optimism about the election results in the five states, Siddaramaiah said, "Based on my information, we are poised to secure Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Our chances in Rajasthan stand at 50-50."
Reacting sharply to criticism from leader of the opposition R. Ashoka regarding the state government's handling of drought relief measures, the Chief Minister defended his administration's actions and questioned the Centre’s delayed disbursement of funds.
"We are taking all necessary steps. During droughts, providing employment is crucial. Despite the central team visiting drought-hit areas two months ago, no funds have been released. In the absence of support from them, we have decided to provide compensation to farmers," Siddaramaiah said.
