BRS Corporators To Move No-Trust Motion Against Mayor
Warangal: Around 19 MRS corporators from the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) are set to join the Congress party and move a no-confidence motion against the mayor Gunda Sudharani.
According to Congress sources, eight BRS corporators will join the Congress under the leadership of endowment minister Konda Surekh. It is likewise with six members under the leadership of Warangal West MLA Naini Rajendar while five are under the leadership of Wardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju.
Of the total 66 divisions under GWMC, the BRS party had won 48 divisions and had grabbed the mayor and deputy mayor posts. Among others, BJP registered victory in 10 divisions while the Congress won from four and the remaining divisions were represented by independents.
Apart from the 10BRS rebels, the Congress, BJP and the independent corporators are likely to move the no-confidence motion against the mayor Gunda Sudharani.
Meanwhile, 11 BRS councilors from Narsampet municipality along with six from the Congress issued a notice to the RDO Vasuchandra on the decision to move a no-confidence motion against the BRS municipal chairperson Gunti Rajini.
Of the total 12 wards present under Wardhannapet municipality, the BRS party had won nine while the Congress clinched two and the BJP one ward.
Eight councilors, including five from BRS, two from the Congress and BJP decided to move a no-confidence motion against the BRS party chairperson Aruna.
Both Rajini and Aruna have been facing the heat from their own party councilors.
Before the assembly elections, when some of the BRS councilors decided to move a no-confidence motion against the chairperson, then party MLAs from Narsampet constituency Peddi Sudharshan Reddy and Wardhannapet constituency Aroori Ramesh convinced the councilors against such a move.
But with the BRS party losing its power and the Congress registering victories in both constituencies, the BRS councilors along with Congress and BJP councilors decided to move a no-confidence motion against the chairpersons of the respective municipalities.
