Negligent BLOs behind voters list errors: BJP
Hyderabad: The BJP on Saturday alleged that the negligence of booth-level officers of the state election commission was resulting in deletion of the names of votes in several constituencies.
BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya and MLC Ramachandra Rao on Saturday has met chief electoral officer Rajat Kumar at his chambers on Saturday and complained about the deletion of votes that was noticed in the Assembly elections.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Dattatreya said, “In 2018 Assembly elections, around 4 lakh names were deleted in Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency alone. We have informed the same to Mr Rajat Kumar. The situation was caused by the negligence of the -level officers. Thousands of names were also missing in Hyderabad and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituencies. The Election Commission must correct it before the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
He added, “We condemn the TRS government’s act of denying permission to observe for Vijay Sankalp Diwas. The programme was well organised across the state and the attitude of the police in Hydera-bad was appalling.”
Earlier, BJP state president Dr K. Laxman participated in a bike rally organised as part of the Vijay Sankalp Diwas. Dr Laxman led the rally which was organised nationwide following a call by by BJYM president Poonam Mahajan.
Dr Laxman said, “The bike rally was organised to promote the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented during past five years.”
