Vijayawada: After airing his views on the floor of the House, in the last month, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, is now leaving for New Delhi on Monday night. He will be meeting leaders of various regional and national parties and explaining to them as to how the NDA government has been slighting Andhra Pradesh and alienating it from getting its rightful demands fulfilled, as per the assurances made during the bifurcation of the state. As per reports, the Chief Minister has prepared long notes to discuss with the national leaders and will seek their support for the cause of Andhra Pradesh.
The CM will stay in New Delhi for two days and will work on an exercise to bring in a consensus among the anti-BJP parties, on various issues, apart from the special status and bifurcation assurances. This is his first visit to New Delhi, after TD detached itself from NDA.
The CM will personally meet leaders from all the political parties, in order to garner support for the TD’s notice on a no-confidence motion. The CM's presence in New Delhi, would be exerting pressure over the NDA government to allow the no-confidence motion for discussion in the Parliament, a Cabinet minister said, and added that Mr Naidu’s Delhi tour in the role of opposition leader is being viewed by BJP as a prominent one, keeping Mr Naidu’s 40 years of political experience. Mr Naidu will be giving a power point presentation to the leaders on AP issues and will also distribute special brochures prepared on the bifurcation assurances to the MPs of various political parties.
Though it is a known fact that Mr Naidu wants to utilise every opportunity during his two-day New Delhi tour, the BJP bosses also tried to elicit the information from Velaga-pudi Secretariat on what would be the possible points Mr Naidu would highlight, apart from the special status, bifurcation issues and no-confidence motion. It is learnt that the BJP headquarters has alerted its allies in NDA government, in the wake of CM’s proposed Delhi tour. One of the strategies that Mr Naidu has would be to co-ordinate with his friends in the NDA alliance and hence the movements of NDA allies would also be under the scanner, during these two days, according to a senior TD leader and MLC. Mr Naidu is also likely to meet CPM’s national general secretary Sitaram Yechury, National Confe-rence president Farook Abdullah, Samajvadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, All India Trinamul Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, former PM Deve Gowda, BSP chief Mayavati, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, BJD'’ Parliamentary party leader Bhartrihari Mehta, and also leaders of NDA alliance parties-Prakash Singh Badal and Ram Vilas Paswan.
