YSRC challenges Naidu and Pawan to contest in Pulivendula
VIJAYAWADA: Former minister and a YSR Congress MLA Perni Venkataramaiah alias Nani has challenged Chandrababu Naidu to explain how the Telugu Desam would defeat the YSRC in all 175 assembly constituencies as the TD does not have in-charges in 40 assembly segments.
He challenged Naidu or Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan to contest from Pulivendula if they have the guts to face chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy at the hustings. Boasts alone will not help the TD and JS, he said.
The MLA said that of the total 21 MLC seats, Chandrababu won only four, of which three were Graduate Constituencies and one was MLA’s quota. “The rest of all the MLCs were grabbed by the YSRC but Naidu is boasting that he has ‘conquered the world and climbed Mount Everest,’” he said in a jocular vein.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Nani recalled that three months ago, Chandrababu was in a perplexed mood. “He sat down with his party members and complained that there were no in-charges for around 38 constituencies. So, first, Naidu should find candidates for these 38 segments.”
He said Naidu never went to elections without an alliance and asked how many seats he would give to people like Satyakumar, Adinarayana Reddy, and Sujana Chowdary who were working for Chandrababu in BJP.
Nani asked the BJP what happened to the demands listed in the BJP's Kurnool Declaration and the manifesto released in the last election. The BJP’s first demand was to set up AP's second capital in Rayalaseema with immediate effect and land acquisition to build an assembly building in Kurnool, so as hold assembly sessions alternately in two cities, like in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
He said the BJP had also demanded the construction of the state secretariat and other departmental buildings, the CM's residential building and the governor's makeshift residence in Kurnool. MLA Nani stressed that CM Jagan would set up the high court in Kurnool.
“On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan, during his visit to Kurnool, promised to make the city the state capital if he formed a government. He also said that Visakha has all the qualifications to become the capital.
BJP and JS leaders should feel ashamed of changing their stands,” he said and demanded that the BJP clarify its stand on the Kurnool Declaration.
Nani said Chandrababu doesn't have the courage to contest against Jagan. “At the age of 75, he is remembering the epic character Uttarakumara by telling lies, untruths and deceiving the public.”
He said the Bahujan Parirakshana Samithi is making a movement to give house sites to 54,000 of the poor in the Amaravati region. He condemned the attack on Dalits by Y Satyakumar and Adinarayana Reddy carrying the TD flag under the guise of the BJP.
