Priyanka to pay tributes to Srikantha Chary
Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is making all the arrangements for Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra’s maiden public meeting at Saroornagar stadium on May 8.
She would arrive at 4 pm on May 8 and pay tributes to the statue of Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary at LB Nagar before addressing the meeting, PCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud informed the media on Tuesday. He said Congress incharge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre and TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy among other senior leaders will attend the public meeting. On whether CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka will suspend his padayatra to attend the meeting, Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the padayatra would continue.
He stated that the Congress will highlight core issues such as growing corruption, exploitation of water and land resources, the series of paper leakage, including the TSPSC and SSC.
"By appointing B. Janardhan Reddy, who bungled big time as Intermediate Board secretary, resulting in the deaths of 19 students, as TSPSC chairman, this government is playing with the lives of 30 lakh unemployed youth,” he said
Congress leader Addanki Dayakar remarked that the new secretariat will “remain a glossy building sans governance as per constitution given the aristocratic and autocratic nature of the government”. What is the use of such a building when panchayat secretaries are being denied their salaries and await regularisation of services, he asked.
