Government strengthening farm hands, say Botsa, Dharmana
Visakhapatnam: The YSRC government has been strengthening the hands of the farmers by launching various schemes, claimed Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada on Friday.
They launched the second phase of the Yantra Seva Pathakam in their respective districts of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.
Addressing a meeting in Kota Circle in Vizinagaram, Satyanaryana said the government was offering 40 per cent subsidy and 50 per cent bank loan so that the farmers get their required equipment by paying 10 per cent of the total cost.
Speaking at Srikakulam, revenue minister Prasada Rao said it was Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy who launched several schemes for the benefit of farmers and which were being continued by his son Jagan Reddy as chief minister.
“Rajasekhara Reddy promised free power for farmers on the eve of the 2004 elections and he kept the promise after coming to power,’’ Rao said.
Similarly, Jagan Mohan Reddy also kept his word by implementing all the promises he made to the farmers and others during his padayatra before the 2019 general elections, he said.
He said fertilisers are being brought in advance before the launch of Kharif season and distributed to the farmers through Rythu Bharosa Kendras. The farmers, irrespective of their political affiliations, are being benefited, the minister said.
The distribution was being done in a most transparent way, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram said at the meeting.
