HYDERABAD: TPCC working president B. Mahesh Goud on Friday said that the Congress played a key role in the formation of Telangana state and AICC leader Sonia Gandhi strived a lot for achieving it.
Goud and other leaders hoisted the Tricolour at Gandhi Bhavan to mark the commencement of the Formation Day celebrations.
"We must remember the martyrs. Around 1,200 youth sacrificed their lives for Telangana. The Congress took the initiative politically and cleared all hindrances for forming Telangana. But, the BRS, which came to power, has ruined the state," he said.
"There is a need for people to analyse and think about the BRS government policies. The Chief Minister has looted money in the name of projects. The Chief Minister also tried to damage the Congress party reputation by colluding with BJP," Goud said.
