MLA vs ZP chief troubles TRS cadre
HYDERABAD: A Nizamabad TRS leader who was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly plotting to kill TRS MLA A. Jeevan Reddy was said to be aligned to the latter’s political rival. Jeevan Reddy had suspended Lavanya, wife of the accused Prasad Goud, as sarpanch.
Prasad Goud is a follower of Nizamabad zilla parishad chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao of the TRS. There is a gap between Jeevan Reddy, who is TRS Nizamabad district president, and Vittal Rao who is a relative of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Prasad Goud recently released a selfie video on social media stating that he would not be Jeevan Reddy’s slave. He alleged that following the directives of Jeevan Reddy, panchayat officials had suspended his wife Lavanya as sarpanch. For the last six months, the couple have been approaching Nizamabad district officials to get Lavanya reinstated.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Lavanya said, “My husband went to Hyderabad to meet Jeevan Reddy to plead my case, not to attack him,” she said. She alleged that Jeevan Reddy had fabricated the case against her husband.
“We are neck-deep in debts. We spent `18 lakh for the gram panchayat works and were forced to pay `50,000 interest per month to private moneylenders,” Lavanya explained. “If any harm happens to my husband Jeevan Reddy will be responsible,” she said.
