Pawan Kalyan to Resume Poll Campaign in Visakhapatnam on August 10

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan would resume his poll campaign in the Visakhapatnam region from August 10. As part of the phase-3 of Varahi Vijaya Yatra, he would address a public meeting here on August 10 and continue the campaign in the region up to August 19.

Addressing the party leaders from here at the party office in Mangalagiri on Thursday, the Jana Sena chief alleged that land encroachments and destruction of nature were rampant in Visakhapatnam under the YSRC rule. There was also a need to bring down industrial pollution in the city, he said.

Referring to his earlier statement that nearly 30,000 girls and women went missing from AP, he said this was confirmed by the Union home ministry in Parliament. “I would not level baseless allegations on any issue and make a statement only after checking the facts,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan alleged that the volunteer system was brought in only to destroy the panchayat raj system. He felt deeply upset and sad after learning about a volunteer killing an aged woman at Pendurthi, the JS leader said.

On Varahi Yatra, Kalyan said he would visit the areas where lands were encroached by the ministers including ‘Yerra Dibbalu’. “I would raise the issues of industrial pollution and illegal constructions at Rushikonda.”

On Visakha Steel Plant, he said whenever he visited Delhi, he kept raising the issue with the Centre. “If the people fight strongly against the privatisation, the Centre would consider their plea.”

Meanwhile, Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar said the third phase of Varahi Vijaya Yatra would be held from August 10 to 19. There would be two public meetings, one Jana Vani programme and six field visits by the party chief.
