Karnataka: Congress to hold meeting for DCC office-bearers
Mangaluru: Gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the victorious state Congress camp, which recently secured a resounding victory in the assembly elections, is set to convene a meeting of the state and district campaign committee office-bearers at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office on Sept 3.
The meeting will feature prominent leaders, including Infrastructure Development, Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil, who also serves as the KPCC Campaign Committee chairman. The leaders will address the gathering and share their insights on the upcoming electoral battle.
The primary objective of this gathering is to honor the dedicated office-bearers of the state, district, and assembly constituency-wise committees of the campaign committee, recognizing their pivotal role in securing victory for the party in the recent assembly elections. This recognition is intended to motivate and prepare these office-bearers for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Having effectively halted the BJP's momentum in the recent assembly elections, the state Congress now brims with enthusiasm and seeks to replicate its success at the national level. Sunday's meeting serves as a crucial platform for strategizing and charting the party's course towards the upcoming general elections.
The meeting, scheduled to commence at 11 am, will be held until noon, according to Campaign Committee coordinator AP Basavaraj.
Of the 28 Parliament seats, Congress had won only 1 seat in the 2019 parliament election. BJP had won 25 seats. However this time the Congress plans to turn the table and win around 15-20 seats thereby helping the Congress led alliance to come to power in the Center.
The party leaders have already started preparations by holding meetings and discussions at various levels.
