JP Nadda to kick off Jan Ashirvad Yatra in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: BJP national president J P Nadda is set to flag off the ‘Jan Ashirvad Yatra’, a mega event to reach out to the people in the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh by the party, in the holy town of Chitrakoot in the state on Sunday.

It is part of the five such yatras planned to be launched from different parts of Madhya Pradesh in September three-six in the state over 22 days.

The five yatras are scheduled to culminate here on September 25 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a party workers’ conclave here on the day on the occasion.

Specially designed five chariots were sent to designated places in the state, where the yatras would be launched, from here on Saturday.

“BJP will make people aware of various welfare and developmental programmes undertaken by the state government as well as the Centre during the yatra. The programme will not only be successful but also prove a milestone for the BJP’s victory in the ensuing assembly polls”, Union minister and state BJP election management committee convenor Narendra Tomar said.

Senior BJP leaders such as Mr Tomar, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP president V D Sharma and Union minister Ashwini Vaishnav worshipped the five chariots before their departure from Bhopal.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chouhan said that the yatra would seek blessings of people for the party for the forthcoming assembly elections on the basis of the state government’s performances.

The yatra would cover 210 of total 230 assembly constituencies in the state over 22 days.
