Palla Rajeshwar Reddy Tarnishing image of BRS govt: Muttireddy
Warangal: While Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been striving hard for uplift of Dalits by introducing various welfare schemes, BRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is maligning the image of the BRS government by lodging false and illegal cases against them, alleged party’s MLA from Jangaon Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy.
The MLA, along with the members of the Dalit community, staged a half-naked protest in front of Ambedkar’s statue in Jangaon on Saturday, against Rajeshwar Reddy for foisting cases against Dalits of the district. Municipal vice-chairman Mekala Ram Prasad, councillors Karri Srinu, Maraboina Pandu and Vijay of BRS took part in the protest.
The MLA said that after achieving a separate state, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao transformed Telangana into a model state. He introduced Dalit Bandhu scheme for the empowerment of Dalits in the state unlike any other state government and also named the new secretariat after Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
However, he said, MLC Rajeshwar Reddy encroached on the lands and plots belonging to around 250 Dalit families in Bibinagar area and got them registered in his son’s name. When they questioned, he lodged false cases against the victims. This is nothing but maligning the image of the Chief Minister and the BRS government, he alleged.
Questioning his role during the Telangana movement, Muttireddy said Rajeshwar Reddy, who doesn’t have any knowledge of the state, was using money to create disturbance in the constituency, he alleged.
As BRS chief KCR has put the announcement of the candidate for Jangaon on hold, MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy have been competing for the party ticket. Apart from conducting separate meetings to show their supremacy over each other, both are indulging in slanging matches, creating confusion among the party cadre of the constituency.
