Politics of Hate Key Hindrance in Nation's Progress: Rahul Gandhi

Raipur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that hatred and violence posed a major hindrance to the progress of the country.

Addressing the 'Rajiv Yuva Mitani' conference here, Mr Gandhi said that the country unites when the people unite and the nation could progress sans hatred and violence.

He said that the mission of Congress is to connect with the people and start ‘Mohabbat ki dukan (shop of love)’ in the market of hatred.

“We are Indians first. We all have to live together with love and respect. This is the oldest message that we gave during the Bharat Jodo Yatra”, he said.

The Congress leader said that he has found unemployment the biggest issue before the youth wherever he went in the country. He said that small entrepreneurs are unable to access the finances from the bank to establish their ventures.

Mr Gandhi recalled that he had earlier asked Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel to focus on the area.

Mr Baghel has started work on it, which promises to generate one lakh employment in the state, he said.

He also asked Mr Baghel to develop infrastructure in Chhattisgarh to make the state logistics Centre of India.

“I think the government of Chhattisgarh has done a commendable job”.

Mr Gandhi said that Congress has fulfilled all the promises made to the people of Chhattisgarh by giving fair prices to farmers, waving off crop loans, and halving the electricity bill.

He said that the Chhattisgarh government has launched ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs’ in the state to build the youths of Chhattisgarh as future leaders.

“We have included you (the youths) so that you can participate in running the state. We want to open doors of politics for you. In a few years, MLAs and Pradhans (village chiefs) should be elected from among you”, he said.

Each such club is receiving Rs one lakh from the state government. Three lakh youths have been added in the clubs.

Mr Baghel also spoke on the occasion.
