Amaravati will be the only capital of AP, says Bhuvaneswari

Kakinada: In what could be her first policy statement, imprisoned former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari has reiterated Telugu Desam Party’s stand that Amaravati will be the only capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

She interacted with farmers from Amaravati, who had converged on to Rajamahendravaram in support of Chandrababu Naidu, who had been jailed in the city’s Central Jail for his alleged involvement in the skill development corporation scam.

“Whatever may be hurdles created by YSRC government, AP’s capital will be constructed only in Amaravathi. You need not have any worries about it,” the former CM’s spouse remarked.

She told farmers about Chandrababu Naidu telling her about the sacrifices they had made for the capital. Their sacrifices will not go waste and justice will be done to them, as good days are coming. In particular, Bhuvaneswari criticised police for pushing Amaravati women farmers into trouble.

“You have been courageous in coming out and fighting against the government. We should show our strength to the present government in forthcoming assembly elections by making proper use of our vote,” she told women farmers in the group.

The farmers told TDP chief’s spouse that while coming to Rajamahendravaram, police had created hurdles for them. But they were allowed to proceed when some farmers informed police that they are going for the darshan of Lord Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Murthy at Annavaram.

The farmers had started in special buses from Talluru and Velagapudi. Police stopped their buses at Veeravalli and Nallajerla toll plazas. They were allowed further after they informed police that they are heading for the temple in Annavaram.
