Pawan Kalyan on silent deeksha, says alliance decision for future of AP

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan performed 30 minutes’ Silent Deeksha at Machilipatnam to mark Gandhi Jayanthi and alleged that the YSRC government has killed the spirit of Gandhi’s Grama Swaraj.

The actor-politician alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy deposited “robbed” money in foreign banks. “Let us work towards ending such robbery,” he said.

He affirmed that the TD-JS ‘alliance’ decision was taken to ensure a better future for the state. “If we (JS) were in the legislature, the state would not have come to this pass. Our aim is to come to power to do good to the people.”

Addressing JS leaders and cadres at Machilipatnam, Pawan Kalyan said, “Development will never be possible if we think about caste equations.”

Pawan visited Machilipatnam as part of the Varahi Yatra, he recalled that Machilipatnam was the birthplace of Pingali Venkaiah and Raghupathi Venkataratnam Naidu. “Machilipatnam has had great importance historically.

“It should be recognised that power does not come from any single caste. I don't make friendships on caste basis. How can development be possible if all the key positions of the YSRC are filled by one category of people? Kapus are the largest in number, they should play a bigger role. Why should one caste hate another caste,” he asked.

He said, “BSP came to power in UP after struggling in four elections. Power does not come to a party immediately after its formation. It was possible for NTR to win power when he formed the party. This was a rare case. Jana Sena is a broad-based party and not a regional party. Seeing Jagan Mohan Reddy since my childhood, I thought that Jagan was not the right person for the state. We should look at politics with a deep vision.”

Pawan Kalyan asserted, “We have to win first. If we don't fight among ourselves, we will win. Let's find solutions to problems through words. Whether or not I will become the CM through the TD-Jana Sena alliance will depend on the JS party’s seats. Jana Sena leaders and workers should not underestimate a party with four decades of experience, though TD is admittedly in a bad situation today. I have no personal quarrel with Jagan.”

“Jana Sena's victory is in your hands. Win first. Let's then talk, who is the king and who is the minister.”

Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar made it clear that the JS was now in an alliance with the Telugu Desam. “This decision was taken for our state and for our future,” he said.
