Rahul insulted PV Narasimha Rao, slams Laxman

Hyderabad: BJP’s Rajya Sabha and the party’s national executive member Dr. K. Laxman demanded an apology from Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday for insulting the late PM P.V. Narasimha Rao and ignoring the Bhagyalakshmi temple at Charminar during his ongoing Bharat Jodo yatra.

In a statement, Dr Laxman claimed that while Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to his grandmother and former prime minister Indira Gandhi’s statue at NTR Marg, he did not even care to “look” at Narasimha Rao’s statue, which was only a few feet away. “He must explain his actions,” Laxman demanded.

He questioned why Rahul Gandhi, who visited Charminar as part of Bharat Jodo Yatra, did not offer prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi temple. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s actions made it abundantly evident that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had given the Bharat Jodo Yatra its full support and that the yatra has exposed the links between the Congress party and TRS.
