Former IPS Officer K.R. Nagaraj Clinches Wardhannapet Seat for Congress
Hyderabad: Two former IPS officers were in the fray in the election, of whom one won and the other had to satisfied with the third position. K.R. Nagaraj, Congress candidate from Wardhannapet. won the seat, while TS BSP chief R.S. Praveen Kumar was confined to the third position in Sirpur.
Nagaraju secured 1,06,696 votes, and defeated the incumbent BRS MLA Aroori Ramesh with a majority of 19,458 votes. Ramesh secured 87,238 votes.
Praveen Kumar secured 44,646 votes. Dr Palvai Harish Babu from the BJP secured 63,702 votes to win the seat with a majority of 3,088 votes, defeating the incumbent Koneru Konappa from the BRS.
