AP leaders discuss BRS strategy for state with KCR

HYDERABAD: Newly appointed Andhra Pradesh head of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Thota Chandrasekhar on Wednesday met Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at the Pragathi Bhavan to discuss the developing political scene in AP and measures to strengthen the party in the state.

Chintala Parthasarathi, who also joined the BRS, also attended the meeting.

Party sources said that Rao and the AP leaders discussed the expansion of BRS activities in AP after Sankranthi. Also, names of leaders who were willing to join the BRS were discussed, they said.

It was learnt that many leaders in YSRC, TD and Jana Sena were unhappy with their party leadership and were approaching them.

Besides, several student committees, farmers’ organisations, BC bodies, and Dalit organisations in AP were extending support to the BRS.

The AP leaders also invited the Chief Minister to attend the office inauguration programme in AP and address the leaders and workers, saying his visit will give the party more impetus in the state.

The CM reportedly assured he would visit AP soon, asked them to focus on public issues, reach out to all sections and explain the ideology of BRS.
