Steel flyover scrapped but BS Yeddyurappa won't let CM off the hook

There has to be a high-level investigation to find out why the government pulled out of the project, says BS Yeddyurappa.

Hubballi: Claiming that the government had admitted to corruption in the steel flyover project by dropping it without explanation, state BJP chief, B.S. Yeddyurappa on Friday warned that his party would go on a state-wide protest until the CBI was roped in to investigate the deal that didn't go through.

Speaking to reporters here, he claimed that his stand on the Chief Minister's family receiving kickbacks in the flyover project was also now vindicated.
"There has to be a high-level investigation to find out why the government pulled out of the project and into the contents of the diary that contains details of crores of rupees paid to the Congress high command. Siddaramaiah should come clean by ordering a CBI probe into the steel bridge project if he is honest. Otherwise the BJP will bring pressure on the Union government to direct the investigating agency to look into the case," he said, adding that diary in the Sahara-Birla case was quite different from the diary found at the home of Congress legislator, Govindaraju.

"Our party will also stage protests at all district headquarters across the state on March 9 condemning the government's poor handling of the drought situation in the state and for waiver of farmers' loans taken from cooperative banks. Passing the buck to the Centre in this matter is only evading responsibility," he charged.
