Gadkari, CM open AP Investors Pavilion

Visakhapatnam: Union minister for roadways Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the AP Investors Pavilion soon after Global Investors Summit began in Visakhapatnam on Friday morning.

The state’s pavilion is a grand display of private and public sector investments in various categories across AP. Its key highlights are AP stalls highlighting eight key sectors through interactive audio-visual based theme designs.

One District One Product (ODOP) Pavilion showcases different handicrafts and handwoven products, followed by HAL displaying prototypes of latest LCA and jet planes in the public sector. Private sector participants at the pavilion are being led by KIA India, Sri City, Cadbury, Vodafone, and partner country pavilions from UK, Japan and EU Chamber of Commerce.

Overall, there are 135 exhibitors displaying their businesses over two days ending Saturday.

Gadkari and Jagan Mohan Reddy spent some time at the ODOP Pavilion. They examined products whose origins date back to centuries. Tourism minister R.K. Roja and others explained to the central minister and chief minister the products on display.

Dietician and diabetic educator P. Usha Gajapathi Raju said she is impressed with the visitors' enthusiasm towards organic products that she has displayed at the exhibition.

Vinay Reddy, a consultant for tourism projects, said many entrepreneurs visited his stall and made inquiries about investing in hotels and entertainment projects. “The exhibition is a good platform for promoting projects that create jobs,’’ Reddy observed.

On day one, around 5,000 people visited the pavilion and interacted with promoters of various projects.
