Only Rahul Gandhi can unseat BRS and BJP from power: Uttam
BHAINSA: Former TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said that it was only the Congress, and its leader Rahul Gandhi, that can only throw out BRS from the state and BJP from the Centre. Several senior Congress leaders addressed street-corner meetings here as part of ‘Telangana poru yatra’.
He slammed the BRS government for neglecting Basar IIIT, which was sanctioned by the Congress party. He said that the Yatra is aimed at exposing the misdeeds of the BJP and TRS and is a follow-up of the Bharat Jodo yatra.
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that Sonia Gandhi had granted Telangana state for the welfare and development of the people but the Chief Minister was only concerned about the development of his family.
Bhatti said that the Narendra Modi government was only encouraging crony capitalism.
MLC T. Jeevan Reddy criticised Rao for assuring Sriramsagar water to Maharashtra while neglecting the farmers of Telangana.
Aletti Maheshwar Reddy, AICC programmes implementation committee chairman, speaking at a meeting in Bhainsa criticised MLA Vittal Reddy for joining the BRS after being elected with a Congress ticket.
Maheshwar Reddy said that the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra’ was being conducted in all Assembly constituencies as per the directions of the AICC and its goal was to bring the Congress to power in honour of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi who had granted statehood to Telangana.
Maheshwar Reddy slammed the Chandrashekar Rao government for neglecting the welfare of all sections of society and all sectors, especially education and health. He said Rao had turned Telangana, a surplus state into a debt-ridden state by borrowing over ₹ 5 lakh crore.
“KCR came to power on the promise of providing ‘KG to PG’ free education. But under KCR’s regime, there was ‘No KG, No PG’ during the last eight-and-a-half years. KCR Govt has shut down over 4,000 primary schools. It targeted each and every educational institution of repute across Telangana,” he alleged.
“KCR calls Telangana the richest state. But it is a matter of shame that IIIT Basara students have to sit on a hunger strike for a week to demand proper food,” he said adding that all universities were in extremely bad shape ever since BRS came to power.
Senior leaders Premsagar Rao, M. Kodanda Reddy, Sajid Khan, Charulatha Rathod, Bharath Chowhan, G. Nagesh, Sharavan Kumar, Madhava Reddy and Madan Mohan were present on the occasion.
