Bandi writes to CM seeking response to posers
HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to explain why the state government was yet to start paying compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre to farmers, whose farms were affected by unseasonal rains.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Sanjay posed several questions. He wanted to know if it was not true that many farmer-friendly schemes were put aside after the introduction of Rythu Bandhu, and that the government had failed to pay banks loan dues of farmers under the farm loan waiver scheme. Even the promised free fertilizers and seeds have not been delivered, Sanjay said.
He took exception to the intimidation by police personnel against anyone who questioned the government; increase in power tariffs even as power utilities have been pushed into deep debts; closure of industries, job losses and why the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme, for which more than one lakh crore were used, had failed to irrigate any farmland till date.
Sanjay asked the Chief Minister to release a white paper on the loans taken by the state government in the last nine years and where the amount had been utilised.
