Jagan launches scathing attack on Naidu and Kalyan, labels them Backstab Hero'

Tirupati: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched a scathing attack on Telugu Desam (TD) president Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan, branding Naidu as a "backstab hero" and PK a "package star."

Speaking at a public meeting in Chittoor on Tuesday, the Chief Minister accused both of joining forces once again to deceive the people. "One is a leader who doesn't know how to ride a cycle, and the other is not able to fill his glass unless someone does it for him. Both governed the state from 2014 to 2019 by deceiving the people. Now they are joining hands to deceive them again,” he said.

The Chief Minister referred to Naidu and Pawan Kalyan as non-resident politicians, emphasising their detachment from AP. Highlighting their absence from the state and their “lack of understanding” of social justice, he said, “To meet them, people will have to travel to neighbouring states. This is proof of their disconnect from the people of AP.”

Further, Jagan Mohan Reddy blamed Naidu for the closure of the Chittoor Dairy and destruction of other government sector entities for personal gain. “During Naidu’s tenure, 54 entities, including government establishments, were either shut down or sold. Naidu even sold sugar factories and paper mills in the cooperative and public sectors for his personal gains.”

“If Naidu had not lost the elections in 2004, even entities like APSRTC, government hospitals and schools would have faced a similar fate,” he said.

The Chief Minister also criticised Naidu for releasing a book titled "Privatisation," which he saw as an attempt to glorify Naidu's misdeeds and portray those as “great accomplishments” despite their negative consequences such as large-scale unemployment.

He questioned the TD chief’s achievements for his native Chittoor district during his term as CM, accusing him of abandoning his own segment, Chandragiri, and fleeing to Kuppam after realising he couldn't win the first.

“Despite winning seven times from Kuppam, Naidu didn't have a house in that constituency. It showed his lack of dedication to it. He thought of building a house in Kuppam when he realised the people were preparing to bid adieu to him,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

The Chief Minister accused Pawan Kalyan of supporting the Telugu Desam's policies of plunder, stash and devour, claiming that the TD was aiming to deceive the people with false promises ahead of the next elections, hoping that the people’s memory was short.

Highlighting the media support enjoyed by Naidu and Kalyan, Jagan Mohan Reddy labelled them a "pack of wolves" spreading falsehood. Claiming that he doesn’t have friendly media or alliances, he emphasised his reliance on the people's support and God. He urged the public to consider the disparities and stand with his party in the upcoming elections if they believed they had benefited from his government's welfare initiatives.
