CPM leaders meet KCR, discuss Munugode bypoll strategy
Hyderabad: CPM state leaders on Saturday discussed the upcoming Munugode Assembly bypoll and the political strategy to be adopted to check the rise of BJP in Telangana with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday.
Those who were in the delegation were CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, former MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy, and party's central committee member Ch Sitharamulu.
It was stated that Chandrashekar Rao thanked the CPM for extending support to the TRS in the Munugode bypoll and said it would go a long way in unification of like-minded forces to check the “communal and divisive politics” of the BJP.
The CM proposed to hold another meeting with CPM leaders at Pragathi Bhavan in the second week of September.
The CPM leaders submitted a list of 20 issues concerning the people and urged the CM to resolve them at the earliest. They wanted early resolution of podu lands issue, sanctioning of crop loans to tenant farmers and revision of minimum wages for agriculture labourers that had not been done for eight years.
The CPM leaders also wanted allotment of 120 sq.yard plots to all eligible poor and Rs 5 lakh grant to construct houses, reviving employees unions in TSRTC among others.
