Cong PEC meets to vet list of candidates

A source said the PEC members prioritised the aspirants based on their knowledge of the background of the candidates

Hyderabad: The Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) which vetted the list of Congress aspirants met at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday and prioritized the candidates. The committee met under the leadership of PEC chairman and TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.

A source said the PEC members prioritised the aspirants based on their knowledge of the background of the candidates.

The screening committee will meet each of the PEC members individually for 10 to 15 minutes on Monday. Then it will meet with the DCC presidents on September 5. The screening committee will sit on September 6 and the list will be sent to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The screening committee send two to three names from each constituency.
