The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has decided to conduct the newly-constituted Congress Working Committee meeting in Hyderabad, Telangana on September 16.
According to AICC general secretary K. C. Venugopal, another extended meeting of the CWC would be conducted the next day, on September 17, observed as Telangana Liberation Day. Along with the CWC members, PCC Presidents and CLP leaders, parliamentary party office-bearers will attend this meeting.
In the evening, a massive mega rally will be taken out near Hyderabad and a public meeting will be held wherein the party would release five guarantees for Telangana, which is heading for Assembly elections soon. After the public meeting, the Congress president will flag off a cavalcade of CWC members, PCC presidents and CLP leaders would visit 119 constituencies and make a night stay there.
On September 18, they will participate in a party programme schedueld to be held in their respective constituencies.
In the meeting scheduled to be held on September 18, the MPs are exempted from participating as there is a special Parliamentary session from the next day.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revnath Reddy thanked AICC leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Party president Mallikarjun Kharge for having the confidence in them and giving them an opportunity to hold the CWC meeting.
