Police Serve Notice to Pawan Kalyan Over Allegations of Disruptive Elements

We shall take appropriate action to prevent such offences

Vijayawada: The Krishna district police served a notice on Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, asking him to furnish information about the allegation that “unscrupulous and rowdy elements” were trying to disrupt his public meeting at Pedana on Wednesday.

“We shall take appropriate action to prevent such offences,” the police notice issued to PK earlier in the day said.

Pedana CI stated in the notice that the Jana Sena sought permission from the police to conduct a public meeting at Pedana on Wednesday. In this context, he must clarify his statement about rowdy elements, so as to “prevent cognisable offences and to maintain peace and public tranquility,” the CI stated.

Earlier, Pawan Kalyan, while addressing party supporters in Machilipatnam, alleged that he got reliable information that some unscrupulous and rowdy elements might try to disturb his public meeting by using criminal force and assault. He called upon his party cadre to counter it and suggested some ways to do so.

Krishna SP, P. Joshua, said. “We served a notice to him under section 149 of CrPC seeking information on his allegations. No one should make baseless allegations as it would lead to necessary police action. We shall step up vigil and initiate stern action against anti-social elements to maintain law and order.”
