TRS man held for money distribution
Hyderabad: A man alleged to be a TRS activist was picked up for questioning by Jubilee Hills Police, following a tip off that he was distributing money among the people of the area to manipulate votes for the elections. The police seized Rs 11,000 from him.
According to the DCP West Zone, A.R. Srinivas, the man, identified as Harinder Singh, who was found in possession of Rs 11,000, was brought to the police station following a claim that he was allegedly distributing money among the people of Rahmath Nagar of Yousufguda.
“We have to verify the claims made against the TRS activist and when caught he was found in possession of Rs 11,000, which is not enough evidence for us to book him or place him under arrest.
“We are investigating the case and will proceed accordingly,” ACP Jubilee Hills, K. Srinivasa Rao said.
When questioned and asked about the cash, Singh said that it was for his wife’s treatment, Police Inspector of Jubilee Hills, C Harischandra Reddy said.
