Across Political Spectrum, Women Emerge Triumphant

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Assembly election results were historic for many reasons, chief among them being the triumph of multiple women candidates, coming from diverse political landscapes, but nevertheless shattering gender barriers and demonstrating impactful leadership.

This was not more evident anywhere than in Narayanapet, where Congress’ Chittem Parnika Reddy defeated BRS’ Rajender Reddy by 7,951 votes. She attributed her success to a dedicated approach to community development, a sentiment also echoed by Congress’ Mulugu winner Seethakka.

Lasya Nandita's victory in Secunderabad Cantonment for the BRS, that too by a margin of 59,057 votes against BJP’ N. Sriganesh, highlighted a notable shift.

Sabitha Indra Reddy's seasoned leadership in Maheswaram, representing the BRS, saw her romp home to victory, with 1,25,578 votes, defeating BJP’s Andela Sriramulu Yadav in the process.

Konda Surekha's win in Warangal East for Congress underscored her commitment to grassroots issues, as was Sunitha Laxma Reddy's significant victory for BRS in Narsapur, with 88,410 votes, over Aavula Raji Reddy.

Padmavathi Reddy's success in Kodad, securing 1,25,783 votes for the Congress, reflected her dedication to public service. Congress’ Matta Raagamai also triumphed in Sattupalli.

Kova Laxmi also secured the Asifabad seat for the BRS, with 22,798 votes, defeating Congress’ Ajmera Shyam.
