Erstwhile Adilabad delivers mixed results in assembly polls
Adilabad: Erstwhile Adilabad district has given mixed results in the Telangana assembly polls, with Congress and BJP winning four seats each while BRS won two seats out of the total of 10 seats when counting of votes ended on Sunday.
The winning Congress candidates are Vedma Bojju from Khanapur, Gaddam Vinod from Bellampalli, K. Premsagar Rao from Mancherial and Gaddam Vivek from Chennur.
BJP candidates emerging victorious are Payal Shankar from Adilabad, Aleti Maheshwar Reddy from Nirmal, Ramarao Patel from Mudhole and Palvai Harish Babu from Sirpur (T).
BRS candidates Kova Laxmi and Anil Jadhav have won from Asifabad and Boath assembly constituencies.
BJP candidate Payal Shankar polled 66,468 votes while nearest rival Jogu Ramana of BRS got 60,321 votes. Congress candidate Kandi Srinivas received 46,763 votes.
BRS candidate Anil Jadhav won with 76,297 votes against his nearest rival Soyam Bapu Rao of BJP, who secured 53,274 votes, while Ade Gajender of Congress got 32,426 votes.
Ramarao Patel of BJP got elected with 96,799 votes from Mudhole against his nearest BRS rival Vittal Reddy, who polled 73,380 votes while Congress candidate Narayanrao Patel received 15,493 votes.
BJP candidate Aleti Maheshwar Reddy won with 1,04,685 votes from Nirmal against his nearest BRS candidate Allola Indrakaran Reddy, who polled 55,321 votes while Congress candidate Srihari Rao got 28,265 votes.
Palvai Harish Babu of BJP was elected with 63,043 votes from Sirpur (T) against his nearest rival Koneru Konappa of BRS who got 60,000 votes while BSP candidate R.S Praveen Kumar got 43,589 votes.
Kova Laxmi of BRS won with 82,620 votes against her nearest rival Shyam Naik of Congress, who got 59,510 votes while Atmaram Naik of BJP got 6,554 votes.
Congress candidate K. Premsagar Rao was elected with 1,04,260 votes from Mancherial against his nearest rival Diwakar Rao, who got 37,734 votes while BJP candidate Raghunath Verebelli received 39,370 votes.
Congress candidate Gaddam Venkataswamy won with 86,427 votes from Chennur against his nearest rival Balka Suman of BRS who got 49,809 votes while Durgam Ashok of BJP got 3,291 votes.
Congress candidate Gaddam Vinod got elected with 81,442 votes against his nearest rival Durgam Chinniah of BRS, who polled 45,163 votes while BJP candidate Sridevi received 3,751 votes.
Congress candidate Vedma Bojju won with 58,210 votes from Khanapur against his nearest rival Bhukya Johnson Naik of BRS, who polled 53,921 while BJP candidate Rathod Ramesh got 51,518 votes.
