Congress slams KCR for not supporting Mamata Banerjee
Hyderabad: Congress leaders on Monday criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not supporting Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who staged a protest against the CBI on Sunday.
A day after the incident, Telangana Congress leaders have started targeting Rao, who had earlier approached Mamata Banerjee for a Federal Front.
“KCR is working hard to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again,” Congress leader Vijayashanti said.
“That is the reason KCR is not supporting Mamata Banerjee and being silent in the CBI versus Mamata episode. Why did he approach Mamata Banerjee earlier in the name of Federal Front? Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao are helping each other,” she said.
Congress senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao appreciated Ms Banerjee for her bold stand against the Centre. “How can the CBI arrest an IPS officer without informing the Chief Minister or the chief secretary of the state,” Mr Hanumantha Rao asked.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah are trying to attack the Bengal government. Mamata saved democracy by standing against the Centre. Why is KCR not responding on this? Now, it is clear that the Federal Front is a B team of the BJP-led NDA,” he said.
