BJP set deadline to allocate 2BHK houses by March 31
HYDERABAD: BJP leader and former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had diverted funds allocated under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Telangana state to a renamed scheme. Still, the BRS government was unable to allocate a single double-bedroom house unit so far, he said.
Vishweshwar Reddy said that if a BJP legislator was elected in Nizamabad, the people would get 10,000 2BHK units under the PMAY.
He was speaking to a large number of 2BHK applicants at a maha dharna at Dharna Chowk in Nizamabad, in the presence of BJP executive member Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta. Having the BJP in power at the Centre and in the state would speed up developmental activities, he said.
Vishweshwar Reddy said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao should be ousted from power for the state to develop. The BRS government was greedy for commissions in the 2BHK housing scheme, he alleged.
BJP executive member Suryanarayana Gupta said that the government should allocate the completed 2BHK houses before March 31, otherwise the BJP will allot the houses.
Gupta demanded that Nizamabad Urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta resign as he had failed to allocate a single 2BHK house in Nizamabad in nine years. The legislator had encouraged land grabbing by his family members and henchmen, the BJP leader alleged.
