O Panneerselvam flays DMK in Nilgiris campaign
OOTY: The Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, who hit campaign trail at Gudalur in Nilgiris border here on Thursday, flayed DMK as anti-people and appealed to the voters in Nilgiris constituency to reject DMK outright in the LS polls.
Touching upon various welfare schemes that were initiated by the AIADMK government in the state, he asked the voters not to forget the power scarcity and violence culture that were order of the day during the DMK regime in the past.
Stating that the AIADMK government has made Tamil Nadu a heaven of peace and development-oriented state, Panneerselvam said that though the AIADMK government has taken steps to provide Rs 2,000 each to the BPL families, it was the DMK which blocked it. People should teach DMK a lesson for acting against the welfare of the people, especially, the poor and down trodden.
Saying that Thiyagarajan, the AIADMK candidate for Nilgiris constituency , who hails from Avinashi, is indeed son of the constituency, he said that A. Raja , the DMK candidate, is an outsider.
He assured that steps will be taken to find solutions to issues of the Gudalur belt.
