Bandi's arrest will not affect PM Modi's programmes in Hyderabad: BJP

Hyderabad: The arrest of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, as well as the party’s plans to stage state-wide protests and launch an agitation against the BRS government will have no bearing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s April 8 programmes in the city, particularly the public meeting at Parade Ground, the party leaders said on Wednesday.

All the plans for making the PM’s public meeting a grand success are in place and nothing has changed, BJP state general secretary G. Premender Reddy said on Wednesday. Party leader and former MP Dr. Boora Narsaiah Goud stated that the case involving Sanjay “actually has provided a fillip to our leaders and cadres that such acts by the BRS government will not faze us. The meeting will be a grand success.”

The BJP is planning to mobilise at least one lakh people for the Parade Ground meeting to hear the PM’s speech.

The PM is expected to reach the Secunderabad railway station at around 11:45 AM where he will flag off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, and later attend the Parade Ground meeting a little after noon. It will be from here where he will lay the foundation stone of AIIMS at Bibinagar. He will also lay the foundation stones for the five National Highway projects, and for the redevelopment of the Secunderabad railway station and dedicate to the nation other development projects related to the railways.
