Rajiv Gandhi certified congress party's 85 per cent commission: PM Modi in Karnataka
Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reiterated his 85 percent commission charge against the Congress party by stating that “Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi himself had certified in public that he sends Rs 100 from Delhi and by the time it reaches the villages it gets to 15 paise and 85 paise gets stolen.”
Earlier, Modi had made 85 per cent commission charge against the Congress party at his election campaign in Kolar of Karnataka on Sunday.
In his election campaign in Tumakuru in Karnataka on Friday, Modi said "Its not Modi who alleged 85 percent commission but senior Congress leader and former PM Rajiv Gandhi made this statement when Congress party ruled the country from Panchayat to Parliament and said that the Congress party even today has not left its habit (commission).”
Modi alleged that the Congress party ‘looted’ the defence sector of the country and his accusation against the Congress was that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has started to make ‘profits’ nowadays which was not seen from its days of inception and it (HAL) was ‘destroyed’ by Congress regime.
Under Congress regime, he alleged that HAL was allegedly “looted” and “none of the works got cleared without availing 85 per cent commission” and said the BJP government has established defence modern factories and making defence forces strong.
Modi alleged that Congress rule had ‘destroyed’ HAL and five years back, ‘false’ news were spread against HAL and its employees were instigated at a time when our forces were busy securing the borders of the country.
Taking a dig at Congress party and Janata Dal Secular (JDS), Modi stated that a vote casted in favour of JDS would be a vote for the Congress party and JDS without getting 85 percent commission does not allow development works to progress.
Regarding the National Education Policy, Modi said his government is working with a vision to give degrees and jobs to youths and the NEP stresses on education for students in vernacular languages but the Congress party wants NEP to be ‘scrapped.”
Under NEP, Modi said poor students can access medical education and become doctors and engineers but the Congress party aims to block avenues for the students for those who cannot get into English medium schools. “Will you punish the Congress party?” he asked the gathering.
