Pratap Simha condemns Prakash Rai's Kaala tweet
Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pratap Simha has condemned actor Prakash Rai's tweet in which he has defended actor Rajnikanth's latest movie Kaala while asserting that it had no connection with the Cauvery water row.
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has decided not to allow the screening of Kaala in the state because of Rajnikanth’s stance on the Cauvery row which it considers inimical to the state’s interests.
Speaking to presspersons, here on Monday, Mr Simha said, “For Mr Prakash Rai, money may be more important than Cauvery. But for us, Cauvery is more important. We have an emotional connect with our lifeline, Cauvery. We all like Rajnikanth but we cannot tolerate anyone who talks lightly about Cauvery. It is natural for pro-Kannada activists to oppose the screening of the movie. Mr Prakash Rai should have resolved the issues whihc cropped up because of Rajnikanth’s statement. With this, Mr Rai has proved that he is a villain not just in movies but in real life too,” he said.
