Former minister Devineni Uma flays YSRC for attack on TD spokesperson
TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam leader and former minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao has alleged that YSR Congress general-secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy played a role in the recent attack on TD spokesman Anam Venkataramana.
Addressing the media in Nellore on Monday, the former minister alleged that the YSRC leaders hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Venkataramana Reddy as they were unable to counter his charges against the government.
The attack was a result of vindictive politics, the former minister said and added, "An ant named Sajjala doesn't sting without order from CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.” He said the attack was a manifestation of rowdy politics in Nellore.
The TD leader also alleged that the YSRC leaders have been manipulating the police to serve their own interests. "Even though 24 hours have passed since the incident, the police didn’t give the FIR to the complainant,” he said.
