BSY will be CM in six months: Umesh Katti
Belagavi: Eight-time BJP MLA and former minister Umesh Katti has predicted that BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa will be back as CM following the 'collapse' of JDS-Congress coalition government in the next six months. Claiming that the functioning of the coalition government is worsening, he said it will fall on its own without any efforts by outsiders.
Hitting back at Public Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi for the latter's statement that several BJP legislators were keen to join the Congress party, Mr Katti said Yeddyurappa would have continued as CM if he had stayed in the same position for some more time after the recent polls. He accused the JDS-Congress coalition government of doing injustice to North-Karnataka while forming the cabinet and said the coalition partners should have avoided regional imbalance by giving an equal share of berths to leaders of the region in the state cabinet. His statement comes in wake of the coalition government's failure to induct some senior Congress MLAs of the region into the cabinet.
Criticising Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for adopting double standards on the farm loan waiver issue, he said the BJP would continue to question the CM on this count. The burden of loan waiver would have to be borne by the governments which come to power in the future and not the current coalition government, he observed.
