Probe source of Rs 100-cr advt money: BRS
Karimnagar: BRS leaders lodged a complaint with the Karimnagar I Town police on Tuesday, demanding an inquiry into BJP MLA M. Raghunandan Rao’s statement questioning the source of former BJP president Bandi Sanjay’s money for advertisements reportedly worth Rs 100 crore.
The BRS leaders recalled Raghunandan Rao quoting Sanjay as once saying he had sold his wife’s jewellery to raise money to contest the Lok Sabha election.
BRS leaders, led by corporator Kamaljit Kaur Sohan Singh, also said that before becoming MP, Sanjay had said that the central government would order an inquiry into the alleged evasion of Rs 700 crore taxes by members of the Karimnagar Granite Association but he failed to get probe done after becoming MP.
The BRS also said that despite being chairman of the Smart City Advisory Committee, he never ordered an inquiry although he had levelled allegations of poor quality works in the past.
