Rs 1K Crore Graft in Karnataka Staff Transfers: HDK

BENGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular), JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday alleged massive corruption in transfer of officials in the State under the Siddaramaiah regime and estimated that the corruption amount involved in transfers would be to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore.

The JD(S) leader stated that “If an investigation is conducted into the transfers then the stability of the State Government would be threatened” and alleged that officials circles are buzzing with talks that “posts are on sale” and “all postings are made on cash payments to the concerned persons.”

Without naming a Minister, Kumaraswamy alleged that the particular Minister is already in possession of huge wealth that would last for at least five centuries but the Minister is involved in extracting cash to the tune of Rs 10-15 lakh per transfer.

Regarding the irregularities in the construction of Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE), Kumaraswamy said that he is going to submit documents on the irregularities to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding investigation by sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

“I have decided to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek justice for farmers who sacrificed their lands for the NICE project and would seek an appointment with Modi and also Amit Shah in a couple of days,” said Kumaraswamy and stated that he could not get the time to speak on the NICE irregularities during the Assembly session.

He also stated that he is planning to hold a press conference in New Delhi and make public the documents on the irregularities.
