Congress Wave Blowing Across State, Says Revanth
Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, while stating that a Congress wave was blowing across Telangana, expressed confidence that they will form government by winning over 85 seats. The people were looking towards Congress after it announced its six guarantees on September 17.
"All the surveys are clearly saying that the BJP and the BRS will not be able to stand against the Congress tsunami," Reddy said. He alleged that the BRS and the BJP had joined hands to damage the Congress’ prospects.
After the 2018 elections, the then BJP state president K. Laxman had told the media that they would support TRS in case there was a hung Assembly, Revanth Reddy said. This indicates the relationship between BJP and BRS, he said.
Meanwhile, leaders from other parties joined Congress in his presence here on Thursday. Addressing the gathering, he said that BRS and BJP have been together in Telangana since 2014.
"Whenever an occasion arises, both parties cooperate internally and indulge in opportunistic politics to defeat the Congress. This will be evidenced when we look closely at the comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister K.T. Rama Rao in the last two days," he said.
Manthriya Naik, ZPTC of Achampet constituency, Uppunutala ZPTC Pratap Reddy, Uppunutala MPP Aruna Narasimha Reddy, Achampet vice-MPP Amaravati C.M. Reddy, former GHMC corporator Badrinath Yadav and others formerly joined Congress.
The PCC chief said that ever since he became the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has praised Modi more than the BJP CMs. He said that every decision taken by Modi in the last nine years had Rao’s support. He said Rao had previously commented that the Modi government was the most progressive and favoured all states.
"Rao stood by Modi during demonetisation even while the entire nation opposed the move," Revanth Reddy said.
The TPCC chief recalled that Rao, who was in Delhi to discuss the dissolution of the Assembly in August 2018, had called only BJP leaders to Pragathi Bhavan. Then the BJP leaders commented that they had gone to seek allotment of land to set up a memorial for former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. In reality, they had hatched a conspiracy to damage the Congress, he said adding that there has been no word about Vajpayee Memorial.
