Kurnool: Buggana launches Pragati Patham campaign

Kurnool: Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath launched the Pragati Ratham-Buggana Margam campaign on Sunday to focus more attention on the infrastructure development at the village and mandal levels.

The minister formally inaugurated the government buildings in Chinnamalkapuram, Dhone, constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore on Sunday. He said the developmental works that occurred during his tenure will be displayed on LED screens.

Rajendranath said a schedule has been prepared to allow one-hour performances on screen in every village of the constituency within 100 days and emphasized that the developmental efforts in the constituency went beyond welfare measures.

These involved an expenditure of Rs 20 lakh for an SC community building, Rs 10 lakh for a graveyard, Rs 1 crore for road construction, the work on a 100-bed hospital for Dhone constituency, an allocation of Rs 350 crore for providing drinking water to every household in the constituency through the Gorukallu reservoir, Rs 50 crore for the construction of the National Highway to Bethamcharla-Dhone, and the transformation of the Maddileti Swamy temple into an important temple in the state, he noted.

The minister said Rs 3.70 crore has been disbursed to the people of this village, with Rs 15,000 each given to 800 mothers who are educating their children. A sum of Rs 1 crore has been allocated for 400 children under Vidyadeevena, Rs 50 lakh for 315 under Vasati Deevena, Rs 5 crore for 1,000 farmers in the agricultural sector, Rs 9 crore for 900 beneficiaries through social pensions, and Rs 1.80 crore for 390 people under the Cheyuta scheme.

Buggana explained that 266 people have been provided house pattas through the housing scheme for the poor in Chinamalkapuram Gram Panchayat.

Prior to his arrival in Chinamalkapuram, the minister inspected the progress of development works in Dhone town. He made enquiries about the construction of the table tennis court being built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh.

AP meat corporation chairman Sriramulu, municipal chairman S Rajesh, MPP Rajasekhar Reddy, former market yard chairman Ramachandrudu and others were present.
